Mission Statement: To keep and maintain records of the Board of Commissioners and the Town of Forest City, including minutes, ordinances, resolutions, contracts and other vital documents, and to perform other duties as may be required by law.
The City Clerk is appointed by the Town Manager for an indefinite term. She is responsible for the maintenance and safekeeping of official public records, and is responsible for keeping minutes of all meetings of the Board of Commissioners as well as for the publication, indexing, and filing of all board proceedings in accordance with general statutes and local ordinances. She is responsible for the safekeeping of ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds, agreements, cemetery records and other legal documents. The City Clerk is the custodian of the corporate seal of the Town of Forest City and is the officer authorized to use and authenticate the seal. The City Clerk often serves as liaison between the public, town manager and governing body. The Clerk attends all meetings of the Board of Commissioners and other necessary committees and boards.
The Clerk's office is located in the Town Hall. Office hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.
