1 Year - Hazardous, Institutional, High-rise, Assembly, Residential
2 Year - Factory/Industrial, Educational (expect schools)
3 Year - Business, Mercantile, Storage, Churches, Synagoues
The Town of Forest City Uses the 2000 International Fire Code with North Carolina Amendments.
Property Inspections
The Town of Forest City requires that all rental property be inspected prior to renting. This does not include apartments. Property inspection allows the town inspector to document the condition of the rental dwelling before you move in. They check each room thoroughly for minimum housing code compliance.
Share the property inspection form with the landlord. This documents the repairs the landlord may need to make or simply establishes the problems that existed before you moved in. Using this form protects the landlord as well.
