Assistant Chief




Assistant Chief Donnie Hensley began his law enforcement career with the Forest City Police Department in June of 2001. Asst. Chief Hensley has served at the Forest City Police Department as a Patrol Officer, Patrol Corporal, Patrol Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain before being promoted to Assistant Chief. Prior to beginning his career in law enforcement, Asst. Chief Hensley served in the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and the North Carolina Army National Guard. 
Asst. Chief Hensley has his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Asst. Chief Hensley is a graduate of NC Justice Academy Management Development Program Class 25 and is a member of the NC Internal Affairs Investigators Association. Asst. Chief Hensley serves as the Commander of the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Divisions and Special Operations Team for the police department.
Asst. Chief Hensley is married to his wife, Shawna, and they have two children, Shayla and Bryson.
