This year, the statewide theme for the Summer Reading Program 2024 is Adventure Begins at Your Library!

Join us here at the library and James F. Crowe Park this summer as we learn, explore, and have lots of fun!

Mooneyham Public Library's Summer Reading Program is geared toward children of preschool age through 5th grade.

Get ready for an adventure this summer with all of the Rutherford County public libraries! Come celebrate the beginning of the 2024 Summer Reading Program with a kickoff event at POPS filled with games and activities.

Bring your bathing suits and sunscreen and get ready to have fun in the splash pads!

The event will be held at POPS in Forest City from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

In case of inclement weather, the kick-off event will be held at the Forest City Clubhouse from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Little explorers are invited to join Mrs. Denise this summer for Tiny Tot Tuesdays here at the library!

These shorter storytime programs intended for children ages 0-3 will feature stories, songs, and felt board activities to help develop literacy and motor skills. Tiny Tot Tuesdays will provide an opportunity to prepare your child for the return of Preschool STEAM Storytime in the fall.

The four week summer program will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the library’s meeting room downstairs on the scheduled dates below.

July 9 and 16

Get ready to be amazed this summer!

Former meteorologist Jack Roper will be here for an unbelievable show filled with magic and sidesplitting comedy!

The program will be held Thursday, June 13th at 3:00 PM in the library's meeting room downstairs.

North Carolina is home to many beautiful and amazing birds that you can find in your own backyard!

Join us at Crowe Park for a morning of crafts and an interactive bird scavenger hunt. We'll put your bird watching skills to the test!

The program will be held Thursday, June 20th at 10:00 AM at James F. Crowe Park in Forest City.

Join us for a “tiny art” painting program! We’ll use small canvases and our imaginations to create cute works of art.

Snacks and sips (juice boxes) will be available for kids to enjoy while painting!

The program will be held Thursday, June 27th at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM in the library's meeting room downstairs.

This program is going to ROCK!

The Schiele Museum will be joining us to explore the world of rocks, gems, and minerals! Treasure-seekers will get to keep what they find in this gemstone mining activity.
