On Friday, September 18, Town of Forest City employees spent the morning picking up litter throughout the community as part of Keep Rutherford County Beautiful’s annual fall litter sweep.
More than 40 employees participated in the cleanup, covering 28 roads across Forest City and collecting nearly 150 bags of trash.
The countywide litter sweep is organized by Keep Rutherford County Beautiful (KRCB), an organization comprised of a diverse group of individuals, families, nonprofits, and local government entities dedicated to addressing waste management through frequent litter pickups, recycling initiatives, and policy change. Each spring and fall, KRCB hosts a countywide litter sweep to encourage students, businesses, organizations, municipalities, and residents to take part in litter pickups across the county.
