Marketing and Events Coordinator 

 

The Town of Forest City (population 7,400), is one of the fastest growing small towns located in the foothills of Western North Carolina, centrally located just 1 hour west of Charlotte, NC and 1 hour east of Asheville, NC and with only a 15-minute drive to the Tryon International Equestrian Center.  The Town is seeking a motivated well qualified applicant to fill the position of Marketing and Events Coordinator.  The Town has seen growth with many commercial projects, including the Facebook Data Center located within the City limits.  Our downtown has experienced revitalization with new restaurants and apartments, construction of a new amphitheater, and a 13-mile rails to trail corridor.  The position includes responsibilities such as planning, organizing and promoting events and marketing activities for the residents and visitors of the Greater Forest City area including the Forest City Pavilion on Park Square which includes the new amphitheater.  Strong public relation skills, marketing and management skills are preferred.  Applicant must be a graduate from a college or university with a degree in marketing, public relations, event management, or related fields and considerable experience in event planning activities or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Hiring salary for this position begins at 42,560.  Successful applicant must pass drug test and criminal background check prior to employment.
